The power of Istighfar and its benefits of the Quran

People often forget the importance of the simple and powerful Dua Istighfar, that is, “Astaghfirullah”. Let’s dive in to know the power of Istighfar. It is the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (SAW) to seek Istighfar 100 times a day. In the Holy Quran, Istighfar is seen as representing the strength and support of Allah that leads to reaching Allah’s closeness and redemption. The Holy Quran declares: “But the righteous will be in the midst of gardens and springs, receiving what the Lord will give them; because they did well before that. They used to sleep but a little of the night; and at dawn, they sought forgiveness … “(Quran, 51: 16-19)

From the verse above, we can conclude that we should always ask for forgiveness and try to do our best to get the pleasure of the Almighty because Istighfar is one of the righteous acts and is the recipient of countless blessings. In another verse, Allah Almighty says: “Verily, Allah loves those who repent, and He loves those who are purified.” (Quran, 2: 222)

We do Istighfar not necessarily after committing a sin or an act of disobedience to Allah Almighty but also understands our shortcomings. Allah loves those who seek forgiveness and repent and cleanse their sins by seeking forgiveness from Allah. Istighfar is also a way to develop this awareness of Allah and strengthen our relationship with Him. We do not address anyone except Allah in repentance. We confess to Him our deepest mistakes, our faults, our failures, and our sins, and we ask forgiveness from Him alone by making Istighfar.

As we know the importance of Istighfar, let’s now talk about the power of Istighfar and its virtues and benefits of reciting the simple and beautiful supplication that is “Astaghfirullah”.

Obtain the dignity (grace) of Allah Almighty:

Grace is the most important thing we need to do something or to do some activities. Without the grace of Allah, all our actions will not be accepted by Allah Almighty and they will be useless. In the Holy Quran, Almighty Allah said: “And seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance, He will let you enjoy a good for a fixed term.

And give each owner (of) the grace of His Grace. But if you turn away then, indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great day. (Quran, 11: 3) From this verse, we conclude that if we seek the forgiveness of Allah and do good deeds, then we receive His grace, otherwise, we will be punished on the Day of Judgment.

Give Joy and Rizq to the prayer:

the Muslim who is still Istighfar will be happy in his life because there are pleasures and Rizq that will come to him. Life will become easier and it will welcome each day with happiness. From Istighfar, we can improve:

In this verse, Allah Almighty promises us that wealth comes with Istighfar, just like children. Istighfar will open the doors that have been closed until today. Wealth and children come from Allah and it is by turning to Him that we will obtain them, not by turning away from Him. This means that Istighfar is the gateway to productivity.
